April 6, 2002 Dear Fred: This note is to formally thank you for your wonderful portayal of Abraham Lincoln at our last meeting of the Carpenter-Welch Camp of the Sons of Union Veterans on March 25th. I had not had the privilege of seeing you perform before that night. I was truly amazed, as were the other brothers, about your ability to capture Lincoln’s persona so magnificently. We are gratelful that you were able to accommodate us on rather short notice. We would be honored if you would be willing to come back and entertain us again as Abraham Lincoln.
