Dear Artist,
Happy spring
It’s time to start thinking about this summer and the 2009 Alki Art Fair !
Alki Art Fair will be held on Saturday and Sunday, July 25 and 26.
The fair will run from 10am – 7pm on Saturday and 10am – 5pm on Sunday.
All new artists: If you are interested in having a booth at the 2009 Alki Art Fair you need to come to a registration day (dates are listed below). Registration is to insure that we have only original, hand made art sold at our fair. During registration; your art work will be viewed (please bring a few representative pieces), you will pick out your booth and pay for your space.
Special note for new jewelry artists: We try to keep the fair well balanced between all art disciplines and because of overwhelming interest in the fair by jewelry artist in the past we are only able to open four jewelry slots for this years fair. Jewelry will be juried via e-mail so if you wish to apply e-mail alkiartfair@yahoo.com Please attach pictures of your work.
Registration days:
Saturday May 16th 10am – 2pm
Saturday June 6th 10am – 2pm
Monday June 8th 6:30pm – 8pm
For more details about the registration process, booth prices and more, see the attached registration form.
Returning artists: If you are returning artist and you know which booth you would like, send in the attached form with payment and booth number. Your requested booth spaces will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. For priority on booth spaces please have your registration in before May 15th. If your requested booth is not available we will call you to find a new location. If you do not have a preference as to where you are located we will be happy to choose a booth for you.
Youth booths: Discounted booths in a designated youth area are available for youth 16 or younger that wish to show/sell their art work. See registration form for more information.
During the fair:

Set up: 7:00am – 9:30am, Saturday July 25th

Take down: 5:00pm – 6:00pm Sunday, July 26th

You may check out tables and chairs from the Alki Bathhouse during set up. They must be turned back in by: 6:00pm, Sunday, July 26.

For set up and take down, on both days, you will be able to drive to your booth. Attention: there is only one driveway entrance (located west of the bathhouse ¼ mile at 62nd and Alki) so things will get backed up. Please be considerate of other artists, drive slowly, and unload quickly so others can pull their cars in when you are finished.

We will provide security Saturday night so you don’t need to take down your tent. We strongly recommend that your artwork and valuables be packed up and that you only leave your display overnight.
The Alki Art Fair is a fundraiser; which provides scholarships to students of all ages for art classes offered through the Alki Community Center and Alki Bathhouse Art Studio. During the fair we hold a silent auction and sell T-shirts of which all the profits go to funding these scholarships.

If you want to donate an item for our silent auction you can bring it with you to one of the registration days or give it to us on the day of the fair.

If you are interested in entering a design for our 2009 Alki Art fair T-shirt see attached half sheet for details.
Assistant director and committee members needed:
This year an Assistant Director is being hired to help organize and operate the fair and we are looking for dedicated volunteer committee members.

Thank you for your interest in the Alki Art Fair and I look forward to meeting you this summer
