Raising chickens on a small scale takes only a few minutes a day to maintain; the learning curve is very slight. 6 chickens will deliver about four eggs per day (the kind you pay $5 per dozen at Whole Foods) A chicken tractor has wheels on it and is open to the yard on the bottom. Every other day it can be moved to a different location, in order for the chickens to have fresh food from the yard, to keep them secure, to keep the cost of feed down and to allow for less cleaning. Chickens do not smell when raise in this mode. Chickens cost almost nothing to keep and the eggs are valuable.
