All the updated information for the 2008 Adult Chamber Music Retreat is now up on the web page for you to explore. The session will run from July 22-July 26th this year.
Jennifer Combs, ACMR's Artistic Director, has accepted a teaching position at the Juilliard School in New York. She is a chamber music coach in the pre-college division, working with diverse ensembles of string, wind and piano students. One of her chamber groups has just completed taping a performance for radio and television for the show, From The Top on PBS.
Andrzej Anweiler's Clarinet Trio (premiered at Music Mountain by Larry Combs, Jennifer Combs and the composer) was performed in Chicago last summer as part of the Rush Hour Concert Series at St. James Cathedral. In addition, his "Diversions for Two Clarinets" was given its world premiere in Tokyo, Japan, as part of ClarinetFest 2005. The CD of Diversions is scheduled for release later this year.
The Anweiler-Combs Duo just completed a series of concerts in southwestern Florida. They each also performed as soloists with the Charlotte (FL) Symphony in January 2007. Jennifer presented the Tchaikovsky Rococo Variations for Cello & Orchestra; Andrzej performed the Grieg Piano Concerto as part of Grieg's Centenary year celebrations.
The Duo will also present a recital of Beethoven, Paganini, Chopin, Piazzola and others at the Charter Oak Concerts in Hartford in April. More details to follow.
