Radio Contest Win Helps Keep Hope Alive!
On August 4th and 5th, Shannon and I were fortunate enough to attend the Women of Faith Conference at the
Savvis
Center
in
St. Louis
. I had entered a contest on Joy FM, our local Christian music station, by telling the story of Bianca’s disappearance and how we needed some spiritual refreshment after a year of disappointments and sadness. My email was selected, and I received a call from the radio station telling me I was one of the winners. I was so excited! I never win anything of value, and this was especially exciting because we were going to get to meet Natalie Grant, Christian female vocalist of the year.

Her song, “Held”, played on the radio over and over again when Bianca first disappeared, and the first time I heard it, I was overwhelmed and had to pull over on the road to cry. That song summed up everything I was feeling. And now I was going to get the chance to meet Natalie in person and tell her how much her music meant to me.

Shannon and I were both blessed by the messages of the speakers, and the beautiful music. Natalie even sang my song! It was a wonderful experience, and we had a great time. It was good to be in the company of 15,000 women who believe in God. Our visit with Natalie and comedian Anita Renfroe was exciting. Both were very nice ladiesdown to earth people who made us feel comfortable.

Natalie listened to my story and said she would offer prayer for us when she and the other conference speakers met in the Green Room. How wonderful is THAT? Bianca was on the hearts and in the minds of a lot of people that day. As much as she loves music, she would have been so excited to get to meet someone famous!
