As is our custom after we have an enjoyable trip, we like to share the high points with our friends.  Therefore, here's our web about traveling from Florida to Beijing and back!

On August 26, 1999, Allyn Higgins and Chuck Lichtenwalner locked the front door of their house in Sarasota and left from Sarasota International Airport.   On the way to China, we stopped at Wilmington, Delaware, to see Chuck's mother and his step-brother and family.  We had used frequent flier points to fly first-class to Vancouver, where the official tour departed.  Delta Airlines had no direct flights to Philadelphia so we traveled from Sarasota to Orlando to Cincinnati to Philadelphia, arriving at 1:00 AM.  We visited with family and on August 31, left from LaGuardia Airport in New York for the west coast.   Again, we had a problem with connections and spent the night in Salt Lake City before arriving in Vancouver on September 2.   We spent two days in that great city but we'll show it to you later as we spent more time on the way home.

On September 4, we boarded Canadian Airlines (now a part of Air Canada) at 1:00 PM and arrived at Beijing Airport at 3:10 PM, the same day, 11 hours later!
