The Mary D. Altavesta Elementary School
is committed to providing all students with the skills, knowledge and personal
values necessary to achieve their full academic, social and emotional
potential. It is our hope that this
experience will provide the building blocks upon which good citizenship is
founded.

At the Altavesta Elementary School
students enjoy fully inclusive classrooms from kindergarten to grade five. A highly qualified staff of twelve classroom
teachers, one resource room teacher and three language based special education
program teachers, supported by one kindergarten and seven special needs para
professionals maintain high curriculum standards in all academic areas.
This is supplemented by art, music, library and physical education. Additionally, students with identified needs
are provided direct services in speech and language, occupational therapy,
physical therapy, adaptive physical education and psychology/guidance
