Following
is a list of web sites mentioned on this
site, along with some of my other
favorite sites.
|
|
Mike And
Al-Vis Duo
One of my
current bands, AKA Heart And Soul. Duo
founded and led by the multi-talented
Michael Cusack, I have been performing
with Mike since 2000.
These days you can see us at Sprengels
Sports Bar in Neptune and various private affairs
throughout the area.
Zara Phillips
Zara's story is so amazing that she's
actually written a book about it-
Mother
Me. Her new CD is
You Me and Us and its
a great collection of catchy pop, rock
and folk in the vein of Dido and
Fairport Convention. We perform together
locally on occasssion and have some shows
coming up soon- stay tuned!
Patty Tracy
One of my favorite singers of all time,
Patty is currently performing with
One-eyed Jack, as well as sharing
performances with Al-Vis throughout the
area. Check out some of the music clips
on this site and you'll see why she is a
big fan favorite everywhere she has
performed! |

Chik-A-Boom
Chik-A-Boom is a band I have been with
since its start at the
Stone Pony
in Asbury Park in the summer of 1990.
Together now more than 20 years, we currently perform regularly at
The Boathouse
and
507 Main
in Belmar and
The Wonder Bar
in Asbury ark.
Spring Lovelle
The remarkably
talented singer-songwriter who was a
major influence on my career. She's not
recording or writing much these days,
and mostly spends her time posting
pretty pics and videos of herself, but
she was a formidable talent earlier on
in her career- I consider her
Transforming CD one of the greatest
works by any artist. I covered her "If I
Told You" on my
Road
Construction
CD as a trbute to her- you can see a
live version of us performing it
here.

Laura Crisci

After years of performing with a
lot of the same musicians I
finally got to meet this stellar
figure in the history of Asbury
Park Rock n Roll. See my
Facebook
and
MySpace
blogs for a review of her toe-tappin'
catchy new CD "All Is Well". |
|
|
New Jersey Friends of Clearwater
Fine all-volunteer organization
(FKA Monmouth County Friends of
Clearwater) I have been associated with
since 1986, including many years
of working and performing at the
Clearwater Festival.
|
|
Steel Mill
Vini Lopez’s current band, a
tribute to his early days with
Bruce Springsteen in Steel Mill.
In addition to being a great guy
and a great friend, Vini has
performed with me in several
bands (see Timeline page) and
still sits in and jams with
Chik-A-Boom
from time to time. |
|
|
Big Danny
Gallagher
Tribute
site for the late Danny Gallagher, whom
I was honored to perform with for many
years. Has some great pix of Danny
onstage with yours truly and many, many
other musicians he performed with over
the years, and also some great stories
and tributes.
|
The
Christine Martucci Band
What can I say? Saw them at the
Paramount in Asbury Park and was caught
totally unprepared! Asbury Music
Award-winning hard-rock and blues in the
tradition of Led Zeppelin and Melissa
Etheridge, but with a sound all their
own. Catch them locally at the Pony or
The Circuit while you still can, they
are certainly arena-bound!
|
|
|
|
Armand and
Angelina
Beautiful fusion of pop, opera and world
music with a Christian message. Perform
mostly in Florida but try to catch them
at a (usually) church performance around
here when you can! |
|
Carolyne
Mas
Asbury Park's own trailblazing
singer-songwriter, who unfortunately has
stopped performing but some of her music
is still available. Her songs filled the
clubs and airwaves of the New York area
and beyond from the late '70s thru the
80s, and rightfully so- great rock and
roll!
|
Carol
Barbieri
A true one-stop talent, Carol is a
writer, singer, songwriter, hostess,
photographer etc etc whom I also have
been digging at Val's open mic on
Mondays in Rumson. Her Golden Blossom
Honey'd voice simply caresses a song
when she sings it (such as Joni
Mitchel's "Big Yellow Taxi" or one of
David
Crowton's Beatles
tunes).
She tells the poignant story of her
search for her birth mother
here.
|
|
|
Asbury
Radio
Maureen Nevin’s “Asbury Radio” home page,
formerly known as "Restore
Radio". For several years her weekly
radio show appeared on WYGG FM
88.1 every Thursday. You can listen to
archives of it on
the web site. She tells me that
squabbles with the FCC are
preventing her from producing
new shows at this point but
watch the site for news on this
also.

|
Virago/One Spirit
Web site of Amy Schindler and
Marie Tashjian, two extremely
talented musicians who write and
perform their own music with
Virago
and also lead an awesome
drumming group called
One
Spirit.
They are also extraordinarily
dedicated and hard-working
volunteers, having worked with
me at the
Clearwater
Festival
for many years.
Be sure to give a listen to
their terrific new CD,
Here Be
Dragons, available
for sampling or purchase at
CD Baby.
|
|
Mimi
Cross
Perennial
Clearwater Festival fave who performs
often in the Asbury Park and New York
areas.
Her CD “I
Slept” is available at
www.CDBaby.Com
and is one of my personal favorites.
Check out some
recent pics of her
performance at the 2008 festival on my
Clearwater page.

Great site with
tributes to Big Danny, Bobby
Alfano, and many others, as well as
links to many Shore area noted musicians
and other great stuff.
You can also get updates on "Too Tall
Tom", the incredibly influential and
talented guitarist who played with just
about every great Asbury-area singer
until moving to North Carolina a
few years back. |
|
Little Furries Rescue-Referral
This organization literally rescues
animals from death row! The local chapter, based in
Browns Mills, is run by an individual who has dedicated
her life to saving life. If you would like to adopt a
pet, or know of an animal that is in danger of being
euthanized, or just care enough to make a donation
please visit this site. |
|
Jo Wymer
Supremely talented blues singer in the
tradition of such Asbury greats as
Pamela Moore and Dolores Holmes. You
should catch her in the Asbury Park or
New York showcases singing her own brand
of heartfelt acoustic numbers as well as
with her band- hot stuff! |
|
|
|
Linda Chorney
Multi-talented
singer-songwriter-actor-photographer-artist
with 5 CDs to her credit- and she
performs regularly right here in the
Asbury Park area! See my online blogs
for more about this wondrously creative
and prolific person.

|
David
Crowton
If you like fingerstyle (or ANY style!)
guitar you'll love David's music! I've
been digging him at the open mic at
Val's in Rumson Monday nights, where he
plays along side other great talents
such as
Carol Barbieri
and Jeff Point. Great versions of
Beatles tunes such as "Blackbird" and JD
Loudermilk's "Windy and Warm", etc await
you if you can make it to one of his
performances. |

Jenny Woods
Here's a great find from the
open mics I've been hanging at lately- a
soulful southern voice and great songs
from a young lady who is destined for
stardom. Come to Val's or Cook's open
mic and see for yourself- and sample her
songs on this new site of hers! |
|
Princeton
Music Connection
I met the director of this, who just
happens to be an incredibly talented
flute player as well as a lovely person,
at Laura Crisci's recent CD release
party. Which you can hear on the CD (see
my other link). Give them a call if you
have any need for a great band for your
event. Support Live Music! |
|
Mrs Jays
Beer Garden
MySpace site that features pics of Jays
over the years, including a lot of the
great acts who performed. Also does a
great job of getting people involved- if
you are into the Asbury Park NJ music
scene in anyway this site is a must! |
|
Remembering
The Circuit In Asbury Park NJ
One of the largest and most active
groups on Facebook, and I helped start
it! See
here for a
hysterically funny Facebook message
thread that started the group. Run by a
dear friend Ken Wescott, who most
definitely WAS there, and features
several posts by Al-Vis. And Be sure to
check out the discussion board while
you're there. |
|
|
Bocci And
The Bad Boys
Tony
Amato’s
high-energy, horn-driven R&B and Rock
band that has been known to make crowds
all over the world go wild.
Tony is
also a great guy and has contributed
much of his time and energy to the
Clearwater
Festival
over the years.
|
|
Big Nancy
Renowned blues harpist Nancy has
performed with a who's who of local and
national blues acts, including my old
friends
Frankie Lee
and David Shearn. She currently performs
with the all-start line-up called The
Supreme Court. Nancy has also been
selflessly and highly active in the
non-profit community for many years,
organizing benefits for other musicians
in times of need as well as other worthy
causes.
|
|
The Ropes
Heard these guys at
Don Hill's
in NYC - flipped me out and so did their
CD,
Kill Her Off!
If you like new music (or just great
energetic rock) please check them out!!!

The VooDUDES
Great
NOLA band by way of the New Brunswick,
NJ music scene. Have several CD's
available and are favorites all over the
New York area. Drummer David Ambrosy is
an friend from my New Brunswick days,
and performed with David Shearn in
Frankie Lee's and Sonny Rhodes' bands,
and front man Andy Bernstein was a local
favorite long before JP Gotrock hit that
area. "Jockamo fina anane!"
April
Taylor
Nashville singing
sensation whom I was turned onto by my
friend Beth and was voted Best
Independent Artist Of 2008. Her CD "I
Wanna Live Like That" features several
modern Country classics including "Hero
At Home", "Restless Heart" and "Sammy B
and Me". And she has another coming out
soon! Be sure to catch her act- she'll
be touring sometime later in 2009.
