Following
is a list of web sites mentioned on this
site, along with some of my other
favorite sites.
|
|
Mike And
AlVis Band
One of my
current bands, AKA Heart And Soul. Duo
founded and led by the multi-talented
Michael Cusack, I have been performing
with Mike since 2000.
These days you can see us at Sprengels
Sports Bar in Neptune, Casey's in
Neptune City and various private affairs
throughout the area.

|
Chik-A-Boom
Chik-A-Boom is a band I have been with
since its start at the
Stone Pony
in Asbury Park in the summer of 1990.
Currently performs regularly at
The Boathouse
and
507 Main
in Belmar and
Murray MacGregors
in Rumson

|
|
New Jersey Friends of Clearwater
Fine all-volunteer organization
(FKA Monmouth County Friends of
Clearwater) I have been associated with
since 1986, including many years
of working and performing at the
Clearwater Festival.
|
|
Steel Mill
Vini Lopez’s current band, a
tribute to his early days with
Bruce Springsteen in Steel Mill.
In addition to being a great guy
and a great friend, Vini has
performed with me in several
bands (see Timeline page) and
still sits in and jams with
Chik-A-Boom
from time to time.
|
|
Andy And Denise
Awesome singer-songwriting duo I first
heard at the Clearwater Festival a few
years back.
Andy Fox is a monstrously talented
guitarist like you will hear few times
in your life, and his and Denise
O’Brien’s soaring harmonies are like
nothing you have ever heard or will hear
again!
|
|
Big Danny
Gallagher
Tribute
site for the late Danny Gallagher, whom
I was honored to perform with for many
years. Has some great pix of Danny
onstage with yours truly and many, many
other musicians he performed with over
the years, and also some great stories
and tributes.

The
Christine Martucci Band
What can I say? Saw them at the
Paramount in Asbury Park and was caught
totally unprepared! Asbury Music
Award-winning hard-rock and blues in the
tradition of Led Zeppelin and Melissa
Etheridge, but with a sound all their
own. Catch them locally at the Pony or
The Circuit while you still can, they
are certainly arena-bound!
|
|
Eryn
Shewell
Renowned backup singer and
singer-songwriterwho has
worked with everyone from Jody Joseph to
Christine Martucci, and has a CD out,
"Window Pane". Beautiful, soulful vocals
in a similar vein to Joss Stone, but
with her own unique sound. Currently
performs acoustically at the Twisted
Tree Cafe in downtown Asbury Park and
the Wonder Bar.
|
Armand and
Angelina
Beautiful fusion of pop, opera and world
music with a Christian message. Perform
mostly in Florida but try to catch them
at a (usually) church performance around
here when you can! |
|
Carolyne
Mas
Asbury Park's own trailblazing
singer-songwriter, who unfortunately has
stopped performing but some of her music
is still available. Her songs filled the
clubs and airwaves of the New York area
and beyond from the late '70s thru the
80s, and rightfully so- great rock and
roll!
While you check out her site you should
also check out her sanctuary:

Asbury
Radio
Maureen Nevin’s “Asbury Radio” home page,
formerly known as "Restore
Radio". For several years her weekly
radio show appeared on WYGG FM
88.1 every Thursday. You can listen to
archives of it on
the web site. She tells me that
squabbles with the FCC are
preventing her from producing
new shows at this point but
watch the site for news on this
also.

|
Virago/One Spirit
Web site of Amy Schindler and
Marie Tashjian, two extremely
talented musicians who write and
perform their own music with
Virago
and also lead an awesome
drumming group called
One
Spirit.
They are also extraordinarily
dedicated and hard-working
volunteers, having worked with
me at the
Clearwater
Festival
for many years.
Be sure to give a listen to
their terrific new CD,
Here Be
Dragons, available
for sampling or purchase at
CD Baby.
|
|
Mimi
Cross
Perennial
Clearwater Festival fave who performs
often in the Asbury Park and New York
areas.
Her CD “I
Slept” is available at
www.CDBaby.Com
and is one of my personal favorites.
Check out some
recent pics of her
performance at the 2008 festival on my
Clearwater page.

Great site with
tributes to Big Danny, Bobby
Alfano, and many others, as well as
links to many Shore area noted musicians
and other great stuff.
You can also get updates on "Too Tall
Tom", the incredibly influential and
talented guitarist who played with just
about every great Asbury-area singer
until moving to North Carolina a
few years back. |
|
Little Furries Rescue-Referral
This organization literally rescues
animals from death row! The local chapter, based in
Browns Mills, is run by an individual who has dedicated
her life to saving life. If you would like to adopt a
pet, or know of an animal that is in danger of being
euthanized, or just care enough to make a donation
please visit this site. |
|
Jo Wymer
Supremely talented blues singer in the
tradition of such Asbury greats as
Pamela Moore and Dolores Holmes. You
should catch her in the Asbury Park or
New York showcases singing her own brand
of heartfelt acoustic numbers as well as
with her band- hot stuff! |

|
Bocci And
The Bad Boys
Tony
Amato’s
high-energy, horn-driven R&B and Rock
band that has been known to make crowds
all over the world go wild.
Tony is
also a great guy and has contributed
much of his time and energy to the
Clearwater
Festival
over the years.
|
|
Big Nancy
Renowned blues harpist Nancy has
performed with a who's who of local and
national blues acts, including my old
friends
Frankie Lee
and David Shearn. She currently performs
with the all-start line-up called The
Supreme Court. Nancy has also been
selflessly and highly active in the
non-profit community for many years,
organizing benefits for other musicians
in times of need as well as other worthy
causes.

|
The Ropes
Heard these guys at
Don Hill's
in NYC - flipped me out and so did their
CD,
Kill Her Off!
If you like new music (or just great
energetic rock) please check them out!!!

The VooDUDES
Great
NOLA band by way of the New Brunswick,
NJ music scene. Have several CD's
available and are favorites all over the
New York area. Drummer David Ambrosy is
an friend from my New Brunswick days,
and performed with David Shearn in
Frankie Lee's and Sonny Rhodes' bands,
and front man Andy Bernstein was a local
favorite long before JP Gotrock hit that
area. "Jockamo fina anane!"
April
Taylor
Nashville singing
sensation whom I was turned onto by my
friend Beth and was voted Best
Independent Artist Of 2008. Her CD "I
Wanna Live Like That" features several
modern Country classics including "Hero
At Home", "Restless Heart" and "Sammy B
and Me". And she has another coming out
soon! Be sure to catch her act- she'll
be touring sometime later in 2009.

Amanda
Duncan
Unless you just have absolutely no
sense of humor and can't stand catchy,
inventive melodies, its hard for me to
imagine anyone not liking this raucous,
multitalented singer songwriter from
here at the Jersey Shore. And if you see
here live, but sure to ask her to play
her unique version of James Brown's "I
Feel Good", which she does on "soul
mandolin". See my
MySpace
site for a review of her CD
Love I Have For You. |
