There were no video games, no cable TV, no Sirius radio, no PCs (so no Facebook!), no internet. Mostly all we did have was music.

NFS was a band that performed all over the Monmouth County area in the mid 70s. Consisting of kids from high schools such as Neptune and Ocean, the venues were high school and teen dances all over the area. Later on there were a lot of keg parties (the drinking age was 18) and even performed at a few Asbury Park clubs such as Mrs Jays, The Alamo and the Warehouse.

Performing music of the day: Kiss, Blue Oyster Cult, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Led Lep, along with a few choice originals- the band grew a steady following and was so popular that a network of friends and fans grew up around it.

On Sunday June 19 at 7 PM at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, Musicians On A Mission sponsored a reunion of NFS and all of the fans, friends and hangers on. You can think of it as "That 70s Show" meets modern day Asbury Park.

The lineup for the show included Rick Draper, Drums; Mike Jones, Guitar; Cole Janus, Bass and Vocals and Al-Vis on Guitar and Vocals.

"Ricky and all the guys have been working hard for months now and hope to make this a fun event for all involved, as well as a chance to give back to the Asbury Park area that has been so supportive of our different musical directions throughout all these years," said NFS's Al-Vis, a veteran of dozens of area music acts over the years, including JP Gotrock, Chik-A-Boom, Spring Libutti, Big Danny Gallagher and countless others.

The show was a benefit for the Trinity Soup Kitchen Of Asbury Park, and also featured area favorite Christine Martucci, and a brand new lineup of the Patty Tracy Band. Patty has performed with Al-Vis and One-eyed Jack for many years, and will be showing off her new lineup featuring Al-Vis with fellow Chik-A-Boom band mate Pat Killeen, along with One-eyed Jack's Donnie Tracy and Frank Corbett.

"Musicians On A Mission's Mission is to utilize the power of music to create connection and inspire giving. We hope to raise awareness, sensitivity and funds to support charitable organizations in our community through planned concerts and events."- from MOAM website
