The Environmental Association for the Repair of the Habitat (EARTH) was formed in 1971 at the height of the environmental movement and is a student organization concerned with developing and promoting knowledge about the pressures put on the environment around us.

EARTH is concerned not only with environmental issues, but also issues related to justice and human rights. Some of these include farming and local food, recycling, and increasing community environmental awareness. The group has been involved with various projects like park and adopt-a-block cleanups.

To celebrate the beauty of our planet and to learn more about various habitats, we have sponsored hiking and camping trips to Hawk Mountain, Allegheny National Forest, and the PA Renewable Energy Festival. Students from EARTH and the English and Philosophy Clubs have collaborated to host events that promote sharing of both literature and environmentalism through music and poetry. We have also sponsored several music festivals on campus to raise money for environmental causes or to celebrate Earth Day. Lastly, in 1997, EARTH was honored to host the regional conference of the Student Environmental Action Coalition (SEAC).
