Government

Section I: The Church

A. WE believe in the autonomy of the local assembly. With the provision that qualified servants are available among the membership.

Their numbers shall be as indicated.

  4. Congregational Chairman [ 1 ]
  5. Church Secretary [ 1 ]
  6. Sunday School Superintendent [ 1 ]

  2. Deacons in training [ As desired ]
  3. Assistant Pastor [ As needed ]

B. All offices of the board shall be by majority vote of the congregation with the exception of those indicated as optional offices. The offices of activities coordinator, deacons in training and assistant pastor will be appointed officers by approval of the senior pastor as head elder and each of the serving elders.

Nomination for elected offices of the board will be requested from the congregation in appropriate time prior to the election. The serving elders shall review each nominee in accordance with the scriptural qualifications for his or her office. The qualified individuals shall then be interviewed by the elders to determine their willingness to serve and their total agreement with the doctrinal statement of the church. The nominees approved by the elders will then be presented to the congregation at least two weeks prior to the election.

C. Pastor – Head Elder; II Timothy 4; 1 – 5

The Pastor shall be selected for recommendation to the congregation by a Pastoral committee, consisting of the serving elders and men appointed to this committee, by the elders. The Pastor shall be a man called of God.
