Prisms: Poems of Light

Feel the Rain

I feel the rain all around me
I inhale the rain and it is in me,
My skin absorbs the tiny droplets of water,
And within my veins,
I feel the pulse of the salty oceans
Echoes of the rising and falling tides
Just as my chest rises and falls
As I breath in the rain.

Whole not within myself
I am not whole with someone else either;
Lovers evaporate like puddles in the sun
Leaving only muddy footprints behind,
But as the last whispers of love
Fade in my ears, as echoes in a cave,
The sky, the trees, the earth and the seas remain,
And I still can feel the rain.

When My Feet Touch The Earth

I feel joy when my feet touch the Earth,
As much as when the sun shines on my face;
I seem to be able to run faster,
When my feet touch the Earth, not concrete.

Whether with my bare feet on the grass,
Or my toes dug into the sand,
Immersed in the ocean with waves and ripples,
Washing over me, tickling my nipples.

I feel joy when my feet touch the Earth,
And I dream of peeling away the concrete,
I long for the simpler days,
When we were of the Earth and knew her ways.
