wrote a great
article on the martial arts and physical therapy connection (in the May 1st, Vol. 10,
Issue 5). It included a special needs profile that took a look at a 17-year-old
girl who practices Karate. It is very inspiring. |

organization of women martial artists. It exists to promote the involvement of women
and girls in the martial arts.

has a big women's martial arts organization called the Pacific Association of Women
Martial Artists (www.pawma.org). They can provide
leads to girl's karate classes.

- This is an organization of scholars and practitioners interested in sharing information
about the history of the martial arts.

 | USA National Karate-do Federation (www.usankf.org)
- The USA NKF is a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee, and every World Championship
Medal won by the United States over the last 10 years has been won by a USA-NKF athlete.

 | American Amateur Karate Federation (www.aakf.org)
- The Traditional Karate organization began in 1961 with the AAKF. It has conducted
annual regional and national championships, as well as many developmental programs.
The AAKF hosted the the first world scale events in the history of Traditional Karate with
a tournament in 1968 between the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Pan American countries.
