Shadow came to us through the Evergreen Golden Retriever Rescue .  He was my "shadow", everywhere I went, he went. I have never had a dog, that loved me as much, as he did and I miss him so terribly.  We adopted him, when he was 8 years old and we had to make the hard decision to put him peacefully to sleep on September 20, 2002, when he was almost 13 years old.  He was the best teacher for our new puppy Tudor and they adored each other.  If you are looking for a Golden Retriever to enrich your life and you have no time for a puppy, the Golden Rescue or Golden Re-homing is a wonderful way to go to get an older dog.

You need to contact your local animal shelter or Humane Society or contact the Golden Retriever Club of America (GRCA) to find out, if a local Golden Rescue exists in your area.  If you live in another part of the world than USA, I am sure there are Clubs and Rescues where you are.
