Only
recently I began to have an interest in searching for my ancestors. As the
past unfolded, I began to realize that it was a story that I had to write and
share. Genealogy is more than pedigree charts or lists of names and dates;
it is a history of who we are and how we came to be. |
I started with the maternal side of my family as it is the one I knew the
most about. There are many empty spaces, many more directions to go, many
questions still unanswered. The names mentioned are all actual people
and the history as factual as I've been able to make it. I have avoided mentioning the names of living persons, in the tradition of
genealogy, and to protect my family's privacy. Most of the
information comes from the research of close relatives whose accuracy I trust.
I welcome those who are not looking for roots to share my story and hope it
will inspire you to look for your own. For those already searching, I hope
that you will find your family. If you are of the Adams or Boyd lineage, and
you recognize any of the names, or can fill in any missing information, by all means
let me know. The stories are always subject to change and as long as I
have other ancestors to discover, I hope they will never end.
