The Artwork of Andrea Guskin

This website highlights my recent body of work entitled Woodspeak. You will find a slide show of these paintings under the "photos" section of this site. Almost all of this new work is on balsa wood, which fascinates me with its fragility and lightness. I strive to create compositions that appear to emerge from the wood organically, as if they were developing for hundreds of years beneath the surface of a tree: layers upon layers of color forming through time.
