Andy's Vacation on Mount Desert Island, October 2000

Yes, I returned to Maine for my vacation again in 2000. I didn't take as many pictures this year, but I still had a good time.

My two most memorable events on this trip were climbing the South Bubble in 41 degree drizzle, and taking close-up pictures of the waves on my last Saturday there. So, guess what you'll find on this page? :)

The South Bubble

South Bubble, from the road This is the South Bubble, as seen from the road on a clear day. No, I didn't climb the sheer granite face you see here. There's a somewhat more gentle trail up the side. It's rated as "moderate" difficulty, and the cool drizzle and gusty winds were welcome on the trek up.

This is my proof that I actually reached the top!

On to the waves!
