Ah, so you've decided to experience my vacation chronologically. Very good. Quite commendable and orderly.

I arrived at Annabelle's Seawall Motel around 4pm Monday afternoon. It was very aptly named. I was a 30-second walk from the water! The seawall is the result of the waves pushing on rocks for centuries. The rocks just keep piling up! Here is a shot from my first day, about mid-way through the tide cycle.

I had dinner at the Seawall Dining Room adjacent to the motel right at sundown. All the guests were seated at the large windows, which faced south. It was a nice view, and I saw a magnificent heron. Sadly, I didn't have my camera with me at the time. Monday was my only day in Maine where we reached 70 degrees.

Tuesday was gray and cool, with a high of only 58 degrees. It drizzled off and on during the day, which was fine with me. I expected rain at least one day during my trip and brought plenty of books.

There was a spot on the sea wall which had picnic tables set up. I sat there and read for several hours. By late-morning, it was low tide. Several birds came around to look for food in the various nooks and crannies of the now-exposed rocks.

I checked out the Bass Harbor lighthouse, but since it was foggy I didn't get any great pictures of the lighthouse this day. However, going down the path a bit I did see a foggy scene which I liked. How's that for a rugged coastline!

The rest of Tuesday was spent napping. :) Click Here To Continue
