Beth Ann and I decided to take a long holiday weekend at the Hilton Head Harbor and RV Resort at Hilton Head Island, SC. We arrived at campground on Friday, around 4:45pm. We checked in at the office and were told to take a golf cart around the campground and select our site. After several trips around the campground, we chose Site 193. We returned the golf cart to office, finished checking in, and then went to our site to set up the camper. It was hot and humid, but our site had plenty of shade.
During our stay, we rode around and explored the island. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we went to several beaches to cool off. Hilton Head's Beaches are clean and have hard packed sand near the water.
Friday evening we dined at Hudson's Seafood. Saturday evening we dined at Tony Roma's. Sunday morning we had breakfast at the Hilton Head Diner. Sunday evening we dined at the Crazy Crab. Monday evening we dined at Wild Wing Cafe. We also went to Rita's which has the best "custard" (type of ice cream,) and also Gelatis. We also got an ice cream treat from Bruster's.
On July 3, we went to Forest Beach to see the Fireworks display at Tybee. Tybee is about 5 air miles from Hilton Head. We have had a tradition of watching the Tybee Fireworks each year since 1999.
The 4 days passed quickly. We had a pleasant stay.
On Tuesday, we packed-up the camper and headed home around noon. We will be returning to this very nice camground.
