Beth Ann and I decided to camp at Crooked River State Park located about a 110 miles south of Savannah. This was our first camping trip to this State Park.
We passed by the King's Bay Submarine base on the way to Crooked River in St Mary's, GA.

It was 6:15pm Friday evening when we drove through the Crooked River State Park gate. We searched for a vacant site, and settled in Site 47.

We set up the camper, went out to dinner at Lang's Seafood, and returned to the camper and watched a little TV. Crooked River has cable on their sites.

Saturday morning, Beth Ann and I ate breakfast, then explored the area. We went to some antique stores, the riverfront, and to nearby ruins of the famous tabby “McIntosh Sugar Works” mill built around 1825. Back at Crooked River, we explored areas of the state park and visited the informative interpretive center.
All good things must end. We packed up Sunday and headed home. We made it home safely around 3:00pm.
We had a great time at Crooked River State Park, and will definitely try to camp there again in the near future.
