Andrew and Beth Ann Blackburn's Camping Adventures:
Hamburg State Park

May 22 - May 25, 2009

It was the long Memorial Day weekend so Beth Ann and I went camping at Hamburg State Park, near Mitchell, GA. We left Savannah around 3:30pm, Friday, and arrived at Hamburg State Park around 3 hours later.

The office was closed so we proceded to settle in our camp site, #14.

Saturday, it was cloudy. There were light showers periodically.

We went to the Park Office to settle-up with our camping fees. While there, I took a few pictures showing personel and items available in the camp store.

The rain continued to pour during the late afternoon. It was even raining when we went out to dinner in Sandersville.

We woke up to another rainy day, Sunday morning.

Around noon, a chipmunk briefly visited our site before seeking shelter from the rain.

Around 1pm Sunday, we ate lunch at Maricelas.

Back at the camper, we put up a flag commemorating the Memorial Day weekend.

Monday arrived, and Beth Ann and I were very disappointed with this camping trip, due to all of the rainfall. We had hoped to have more outside activity. We packed up the camper and headed home around 1pm.

When we were leaving, we noticed that there was plenty of water going over the dam, at the grist mill, after all of the rainfall.

We made it home safely around 4pm.
