I-380California South San Francisco, CAUS-101 San Bruno, CAI-280 California South San Francisco, CA San Bruno, CA 2 I-280 FULL HIGHWAY LENGTH: I-380 connects I-280 to US-101 across the San Francisco peninsula near the San Francisco International Airport. On the east end, I-380 ends at the northwest corner of the San Francisco International Airport after just crossing US-101. On the west end, I-380 connects to I-280 in San Bruno, CA. Exit numbering and unused bridges over I-280 indicate that, at some time in the future, I-380 will be extended to CA-1, although it is questionable whether this will ever happen. The Federal Highway Administration shows I-380 being 3.3 miles long, but the actual paved length is little more than 1.75 miles. IN CALIFORNIA STATE: Caltrans (the California DOT) is slowly adding exit numbers to the freeway exits on all of California's freeways. The numbering is mileage based. There are some situations where, for the same crossing roadway, the eastbound exit number may be different from the westbound one. Be sure to account for this when getting or giving directions. Although the exit numbers are based on mileage through the entire state, the mileposts are still based on mileage through each county.
