Information Sources

Format, Organization, Colors and Symbols

Stripchart page format, orgainization, color choice and symbols were used from Chris Marshall's British Motorway Database (http://www.cbrd.co.uk/motorway). If you find yourself planning a trip to the UK, please give his site a visit for motorway and surface highway information.

Aerial Photos and Topographic Maps

The MSN Terraserver service provided the photos used to make most of the interchange diagrams. MSN provides the photo tile database infrastructure. The USGS provides the actual photo tiles. More recent changes in interchange configuration are seen through www.globexplorer.com.

Roadway-Specific Information

Route Logs and Road Inventories from state Department of Transportation (or equivilent agency) web sites for the appropriate states.

Shields

The shield backgrounds came from David Kendrick's Shields Up website at http://www.kendrick.org/shields-up/default.aspx. The numerals were hand done. I position the numeral jpeg's on the shield background jpeg with software so that I don't have to store away a bunch of shield pics.

Overview Maps

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (a part of USDOT) modified by myself to highlight the described highway.
