July Happenings
We ended the month of June in a great spot! Our C team lead by Carly as captain was first at Fairhill in Horse Management and third over all in placing. Katie C. was first in HM in the Novice individual division as well as placing first in that division. Hillary also placed third in HM and third overall. Our team lead by Peyton was 8th over all and Sydney qualified to go to eventing nationals in VA!Everyone showed great team work and sportsmanship. Our third team, a three lady team, led by Sarah ran into trouble with one of our mounts, Chester, who popped a splint on jumping day. (That dressage test really did him in!)
Thanks to all of the pony clubbers and parents that put so much effort into Fairhill. I can tell you, I am glad it is over and everyone seemed to have a great time. Our scramble member, Kim Y, sent a lovely email saying she had fun and learned a great deal! She felt welcomed and enjoyed the experience. A special thanks to George and Eric for all their hard work keeping the "hard stuff" fixed. The repairs to the barn, the water and ice and the ground hog holes. Thanks also to the parents that helped with the food, jump judging, and all other other tasks that needed attention during the rally. It was nice to have Linda Harris and Julieanne help out with horse management as well.
The T-shirts were a hit and sold out I heard. Thanks Ms. Dee for doing that on top of all the personal issues you had going on!
Kim S is to be thanked for her efforts of lessons, paperwork, and the team meetings and continual communications. We are sorry Erin's horse came up lame and that the Laskey family had some issues, but in the end it all worked out. We hope Chester has a speedy recovery from his surgery and lameness as well.
Brooke G (our former member) did break her elbow in her fall. We wish her a speed recovery and she seemed to be doing so well and having a good time.
GAMES - Our games players are going to nationals. Our Jr. Team was first by 1.25 pts and Katie's Sr. Team won as well. We wish everyone the best of luck in VA for the championships.
