Begun in 1996, the Audie Awards are presented by the Audio Publishers Association for excellence in spoken audio publishing. In 2003, awards were made in 26 categories. Judges were responsible for reviewing 668 audio books submitted for consideration. All titles submitted must have been released between November 1, 2001 and October 31, 2002. The Audie Awards are notable as the only completely juried awards covering audio books and spoken word entertainment.
