This list was inspired by and based on the prospectus for "A Latino National Conversation," a program of the Great Books Foundation. It was compiled by Tom Healy, Seattle Public Library librarian; author Kathleen Alcala; members of Los Nortenos writing group; Seattle Public Library Children's Services: and the Washington Center for the Book at the Seattle Public Library. The Children and Young Adults list was adapted from book lists from the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, and the San Antonio Public Library.
