July Coronation Report, A.S. XLI
May, 2006
1. Contracts:
a.) Site Contract will be signed and turned into the Site Managers by May 26th.
b.) Biffy Contracts have been completed.
c.) Hay purchased for June Faire will be kept for July Coronation
(and augmented as necessary if hay bales are destroyed with use at June
Faire).
d.) Site Insurance Check has been submitted. EIF is complete and
turned into Kingdom Calendar.
2. Site Lay-Out:
a.) Lay-Out Coordinator / SCA Coordinator: Has begun actively
mapping
placement of major activities. Has begun contacting Kingdom Officers
for
lay-out needs as well as local branches.
b.) Camping Coordinator: has begun taking reservations from an e-mail
address set up specifically for such use.
3. Publications:
a.) Copy for the June issue of The Crier has been completed and
submitted.
b.) Pre-registration form was located in the May issue of The Crier and registrations have been trickling into the Coordinator.
4. Marketplace:
a.) The Marketplace is already about a third to half filled. I anticipate that it will be complete by June Faire and a list of participating merchants on the web-site by mid-June.
5. Marshallate Activities:
a.) It has been decided at this time that Equestrian Activities will
not take place at July Coronation. There just isn't enough space
readily
available and not enough time to make the necessary arrangements
comfortably. HOWEVER, if the 'Riderless Horse' is desired for Court
or
other Ceremonial Activity, our Equestrian Coordinator is ready to
meet the
requirements necessary (e.g. Equestrian Insurance). Her Excellency
Tsuruko
is on board with coordinating this should it become necessary.
b.) THL Conchobar (Baronial Marshal) is interfacing with the
Kingdom
Earl Marshal for any Eric requirements necessary.
c.) Located for archery activities has been located. Still
working on
Thrown Weapons. TW will happen at July Coronation and it is hoped
that
they will take place close to Archery, but still working through a
few issues.
6. Parking:
Parking will be located a short distance from site at the bottom of a hill. His Excellency Ralg has been tagged with
coordinating
Parking activities. At this time a plan is being formulated to have a
shuttle service (a van) set up for Friday evening to bring people
from the
parking area to the site area. Van may be private owned, but we're
looking into the possibility of a rental.
7. Volunteers:
A push is being made to recruit volunteers for this event.
After June Faire this effort will grow.
8. Web Site:
Initial web site has been set up and linked to the Baronial web-site. At this time it has Camping Reservation information and
Marketplace information. The Web Minister for July Coronation will be concentrating on June Faire during the month of May, but information
will still be added as possible. After June Faire, the web site will grow
significantly.
9. Heraldry:
There will be a concentrated effort by the Heraldic Community
to have all fighters in the Championships have more of a heraldic
presence, namely in the form of a personal herald. THL Ian is working
with
the Royal Liaison to get Their permission for this to happen.
10. Pied Piper:
The Kingdom Minister of Children has requested space for Children's and Youth Activities. So this will be available at July
Coronation.
11. Arts and Sciences:
A Phred is being organized by Mistress Ellen
Fraser. Other A&S activities will include scribal activities, costume
displays, some classes and lecture / discussions.
12. Clean-Up:
Coordinator has a team in place for clean up after completion
of event.
13. Bardic:
Bardic activities are planned for Coronation, both wandering and on a stage. Placement of stage is still being discussed as we need to
ensure
that it does not interfer with Court at all. Most likely it will be
placed
across the street close to the Marketplace.
14. Site Walk-Through:
Site Walk-Through will be set up for approximately June 10th.
Please
let me know if you would be interested in attending (we can move the date
to accommodate if another day will work better. |
