Arthur's Pass was a weekend trip.  I wanted to tramp on the Cass Lagoon Track but it rained all day Saturday causing the rivers to be too dangerous to ford. So, I walked down to the Backpacker's Hostel and spent the day there.   Met some wonderful people from Israel,Scotland and Germany. I awoke Sunday morning with clear blue skies and went on a few day hikes.  One to Punchbowl Falls and the other was a nature walk.  To get back to Christchurch, I took the TransAlpine Express train.  Most of these pictures are from that ride and some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen.
