In Memoriam
Zekie passed away on December 17th, 2006. He was in a lot of discomfort due to 5 ruptured discs in his back and I had to put him down. He is waiting for us over The Rainbow Bridge.

Zeke was the "Diva" as fashioned by my wife Annie. As a pup he was treated like a little prince. His handmaiden was always in attendance whenever he desired. Since Alex was in school and I was at work, Zeke was the focus of Annie's attention. At one point he wouldn't even eat unless she was sitting next to him.
Zeke was from a kennel in central Pennsylvannia called
Capers Acres that specialized in American line GSD's with
exceptional temperment. Afterselecting this exceptionally
cute puppy, we picked him up several weeks later and as we
were riding home trying to think of a name for him, Alex
quipped from the back seat "We need to stop, I have to take
a leak." He then said, "Take a leak Zeke" and the pups
name was immediately decided. Soon after we got home we
found that Zeke would surreptitiously borrow socks, shoes
and what have you, hence the name "Sneaky Zeke."
Officially the AKC knows him as "Capers acres Sneaky
Zeke."
Here is the future star "Schutzhund", at 9 weeks old, launching an attack on 110lb Fred.
Then there is Fred. Whereas Zeke was  a "Diva", Fred is a "Dawg." He is shorter than Zeke, but all the female GSD's consider him a hunk. His head is half again as wide as Zeke's although we are definitely sure there is not a bigger brain in there.

Fred, at one and a half years weighs 110 lbs, while Zeke who appeared bigger was kept around 95 lbs. Fred is one dense solid dog. If you are in the way while he is trying to get out the door to eat the UPS man, it's like being hit by a fullback. He is very fast, and when on the rush, very silent. He scares the bejesus out of people.

Here is Alex at 15, with the two boys. One of them needs a haircut! Fred is on the left and Zeke is on the right. We still miss Zeke.
Ooops! I am now 7 months old and Fred better watch out as I'm a big dog now.
Uh Oh! Who's that?

Well, his name is Scooter and he arrived here on Ellendale Drive on Match 4th, 2007. He was born on January 1st, 2007. A New Years present/

Alex named him Scooter, as at just 9 weeks he was Scooting around the house terrorizing Fred.

And here they are! Scooter at 7 months and Fred at 2-1/2 years. They are inseparable. Where one
goes, there goes the other. When they tussle with each other in the living room the furniture gets nervous,
and rightly so as Scooter is about 70 lbs and growing and Fred is 120 lbs. Needless to say, we don't
lock the doors to the house. Fred is hopeful that a burglar will come his way real soon.
