Zig Zag is a 1975 Pearson 39 Yawl, Hull Number 68 of 75 sisterships. Of these, only about 15 were yawls. The remaining boats are sloops. I bought the boat in 2005 and have replaced the standing and running rigging, the interior and exterior cushions, the sails and winches, and have added a matching dodger and bimini top..The new sails include a new Doyle 150% roller furling Genoa on new Schaefer roller furling gear and a new Doyle "Stack Pack" self furling mainsail. I had the relatively new 130% Genoa and the working and storm Jibs converted to fit the Schaefer gear. All lines are led to the cockpit and new winches include Lewmar 2-speed self tailing primaries as well as Lewmar self tailers for the main and genoa halyards and the mainsheet. The mainsail was converted to mid-boom sheeting so a bimini that attaches to the dodger could be fabricated and a solid boom vang was added. |
