Furniture |
Here is some of the Furniture that I have built. First up is a Tiger Maple Bedroom Suite. Currently there are five pieces. A Tallboy Chest of Drawers, a Bureau Dresser, a Side Table Chest of Drawers, a Mirror and a Bed Frame. |
Here are the 4 pieces and you can see a corner of the bedframe next to the Bureau. All fronts are bookmatched from one board and drawers are all dovetailed. Finish on all pieces is Waterlox Transparent. Tops are polished with Pumice. Most of the lumber was from one tree that I found in Pennsylvannia. |
To the left, here is a Parsons Table made from a Flame Birch plank with Walnut legs and aprons. Finish is Waterlox Transparent rubbed out with Rottenstone. |
The matching stereo equipment cabinets are made from Amercian Ash. You really can't see in these pictures but the sides are full height raised panels and the tops and shelves are black lacquered MDF. Finish is Blonde Shellac. |
This shot of the Dining Room at left shows the Cherry Sideboard (my first major piece), the Cherry Trestle Table and one of the four chairs that are Walnut with Cherry slats. The side board has raised panel doors of very old Curley Cherry .All the Cherry is finished with Waterlox. There is also a small Shaker style table that was designed as a bedside item, but migrated to the dinning room when I built the bedroom stuff. It's finsihed with Watco Dansih Oil. |
Here is a small Cherry topped table with Osage inlay. Built as a small dining table for the Family Room. Again Waterlox finish. |
