Welcome to part two of my photos from the Port of Oakland. Part One focuses on the bizarre cranes that have intrigued si-fi fans in the bay area. This part focuses on the working port. The following photos are of the rest of the port.

The Port of Oakland is a very busy port, loading and unloading million of tons of cargo each DAY. With perfect precision, cranes unload boats and put cargo is put on rail cars for transport inland. Then they load the same cargo boats with out bound cargo. Oakland is a working city and the Port show that spirit.

These pictures were taken from Bart and from the island of Alameda. For the best view of the port, with San Francisco as a backdrop, you have to take Interstate 880 North from Oakland.
