Saint Catherine's
of
Siena
Siena is one of my favorite
towns in Italy because it has been pickled Gothic. Since it is a
true gothic style town, of course it has to have a Gothic Cathedral, named
St. Catherine's after the patron (actually matron) Saint of the city.
Surprisingly enough the Cathedral is not the center of the city, the town
square is. Here are some photos of the Cathedral, unfortunately cameras
are not allowed inside so there are no photos of the inside which
is truly marvelous. I also think the exterior is more beautiful than
the Cathedral in Florence.
