::the wig and necklace::

already had it. it's the Jasmine wig from the Elegante collection. i heart human hair wigs! :D

the necklace is calico blue satin ribbon with a star pendant strung on it. the pendant's made from clay, paint, and varnish. it's way cute and weighs nothing....so it likes to spin around, unbeknownst to me. heh.

::the bodice and underskirt::

true to form, this is a boned, lined bodice. instead of buckram, however, i used plastic sheeting (for time and money constraints) as it does just as lovely of a job of straightening and stiffening out bodice fabrics. there are four layers in the bodice: the sheer colonial blue pattern overlay, a light bluish-grey cotton, a heavyweight plastic sheeting, and a second layer of the cotton. the bodice is trimmed in calico blue bindings and lace, and fully laces up the back. true to form, there's a wide strip of antiqued and tea-dyed lace at the top of the bosom.

the skirt's just two layers of fabric, the sheer colonial blue overlay and the cotton, with a fitted top and full sweep.

::the overdress::

this was a pain in the butt to make, but i did find almost the right fabric-- and cheap nonetheless. you can't beat $1 a yard! i altered a colonial pattern and made the cutaway jacket top seperately. it has dual collars. the top collar's a burgundy tweed wool, and the bottom collar, as well as the rest of the overdress, is trimmed in the same wool. ditto for the sleeves: wool trim, shell buttons, and delicate lace at the bottom. i rocked da house on the sleeves...i just sucked everywhere else. heh heh...

the buttons were a nuisance, because you simply couldn't find ones large enough (at that time-- although now i have found some), and six of them to boot...so i made some from paperclay, and lots of varnish. i wasn't too pleased with the outcome, but it made due.

the bottom of the overdress is badly bustled, but there's something like five yards of fabric going on. one day i may fix this. I apparently needed to wear panniers and a hoopskirt with this, but i was a bit clueless at the time. heh.
