"It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it." .Governor George W. Bush..
This Page is dedicated to getting Litter enforced here in New Jersey.  I'm an American and very proud or it!!

There is nothing Patriotic about ordering police to ignore laws and trashing our State. This is what has been told to me by police for many years!!

The EPA is fully aware of litter laws ignored, They have decided to do same. I have been in contact with EPA, this is the height of ignoring quality of life.
Todd Bates of Asbury Park Press, have made many promises to do story on litter enforcement. He intends to keep all of his promises! Call from Todd today, told 85 towns contacted, 50 replied. Audit by the press soon to come. Note: - The audit is finished, what was feared is true. None issued anywhere! The truth is this law is not displayed, or enforced at all anywhere, except for a small few good cops. Mainly State Troopers. This can be see in court records.
Unfortunatly local judges such as one in Middletown, and littler silver NJ see to it that tickets go away, so there is no record any more. I have seen this in so many cases it makes me sick.

The dumping of PCB's off the NJ coast took it's toll. The fish are now, far too TOXIC to eat. The government has poisened our food chain! Dirt Bags!!! As of January 2003. The state of NJ has deemed fish off our coast are now unsafe to eat! In responce to this they have decided to dump more PCB's. The Asbury Park Press has ended the coverage of this crime to all the people that live in New Jersey!

If anyone has a idea of why this is, please write me and let me know why?
I have been racking my brain for years on this one. Lazy, don't care who knows. The other night we had record rains. I was standing at Count Basie Theater in Red Bank watching the rain. People were tossing their butts into the water every second for hours. Litter of course is not enforced in Red Bank!

The following is a selection of my Experiences in trying to litter get littering enforced in...New Jersey

IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY THE TERM GARBAGE, TOO BAD. LOOK AROUND, WHAT DO YOU SEE?
GARBAGE! OUR STREETS AND STREAMS ARE COVERED!
THE LITTER LAWS ARE COMPLETELY IGNORED!
IN FACT THE POLICE I SPOKE TO TOLD ME, THEY ARE TOLD TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY!
Read This!
Years Ago I was fishing under the Highlands Bridge, when a sudden heavy downpour took place for around twenty minutes. A few minutes later my lines kept picking up plastic bags. This was a pain so I left the area. When my boat faced east toward the Navesink River, I was shocked to see the center of the channel covered with trash, and streams of trash coming from the storm drains feeding the large channel of trash in the center of the river. I picked up a plastic bag in my motor  After I tied up the boat, I proceeded home. The white van in front of me started tossing a lot of trash from his car. Didn't take me long to see he was cleaning his car as he was going down the street. I took down his plate number and I already knew his face but did not know his name.
I took this information to the Rumson Police Station where my old friend Billy Brush cursed me out, telling me we don't do that here! I left very discouraged and very angry!   Since then I have spoken to many old timers on the squad, and I was told that they are ORDERED NOT TO ENFORCE THIS LAW! The reason why was that they (the judge) "did not want any stupid litter tickets clogging his court." Now over ten years have gone by, nothing has been done about this quality of life issue. A few days ago my ten year old son and I were cursed out of Little Silver Police Station by Capt. Mc Cue, being told "I've never given a litter ticket, and I would not even know how to begin to write a litter ticket." This Judge Himmelman controls Red Bank and Little Silver. And he's a friend of my mothers. He is the man in control of Red Bank, and this is why they are ordered to look the other way when they see litter tossed. I've had many nasty words with Capt. Mc Cue. He has to be one of the biggest skumbags on the planet. I just find it so hard to believe that people like this are paid by us! Telling me he will personally see to it that this law will never be enforced in Little Silver NJ.
Since then I have discovered that there is no law in New Jersey that covers littering while on foot. The only law in this state that covers this is tossing trash from a moving car. I find it odd that in this year of 2001 there is NO LAW AGAINST LITTERING ON FOOT. A person may toss as much garbage around as they wish and there is nothing anyone can do about it!

This is a disgusting but very common sight, trash along the river shoreline as far as the eye can see, nothing but litter!
The towns people should know the truth, the taxes we pay have no bearing on the quality of life, we live like pigs!

Update notice, Rumson's new Ed Rumolo, has nothing to say at this time, But Rumson is calling their own courts record untrue. 1-23-02: Update. Last Sunday,6-23-02, I pulled up my boat to the boat ramp. the pair in front of me tossed trash at the same time as I walked by. I said loud enough for the police officer sitting near the only do not litter sign in town. He did nothing, so as I walked by the cop. I asked him why he did nothing? He quickly snapped back, and said "I don't like your attitude" Well after he made it quite apparent he did not feel littering was a crime. The only crime he saw was a man mad at a person too fat and lazy to do his job. Capt. Romelo defends his officers non compliance with this STATE LAW.

I've spent many years trying to contact someone in charge in Trenton, but nobody seems to care or listen to common sense. I make this web page in hope some may see it and help in any way that can stop the trash from going on our streets and into our Rivers.
See this storm drain. Doesn't filter much trash, does it?

If you feel you can help please contact me at...  aquasport@comcast.net
Many police have read this, but not one ever tried to challenge it! WHY? It's true!
The above is all so true, yet if you doubt it just call the police, or contact me. I will help in any way that I can!
If you would like to see these laws enforced, and have clean roads and waterways, send this to everyone....NOW!!!!!

The most disgusting people I've ever met are from this state we call new jersey
It sure doesn't make living here very easy
Seeing litter everywhere makes me sick
That guy just tossed a butt, why does he have to be such a slob?
He say butt everyone does it
I say that doesn't make it right
Then he wants to fight
Dumped oil in Marlboro
The above poem is a real life experience that I have all the time

This is a letter written by me, to Trenton.

I've had a problem for many years and I was hoping that you could help. I
have attended some borough hall meeting in our town and I just can't believe
what I was told by the mayor. I asked him to post a few "no litter" signs
in our town because it is 3/4 surrounded by water and the Navesink River
Gets covered with garbage every time it rains. I was told he would think
about it. At the next meeting I asked" have you thought about it? He told
me" I see no reason to post such signs nor do I see any reason to enforce
this law. As a member of the Navesink Environmental Study group I find
this appalling. So I took it on myself to pass out some fliers stating what
the Mayor told me. Then the next thing I'm told by the people that work
for the mayor that he's out to get me. And I had better watch my ass for
they will come down on me hard. A few days later I'm shaken down in front
of my own house and threatened. I won't go into any more incidents but
there has been too much lying, And I can't see what kind of thinking is
behind this. I asked a few of the towns policemen and they told me that
they were ordered "not to bother his court with stupid littering tickets".
 ; I'm a middle aged man with a family and I
just received threats NOT to pursue this or he will do everything he can
to sue me, The police are here to help the public They are not the mayors
private goon squad. Chief Robert Hoffman, who I would like to think of
him as a friend, informed me that he has no control over these men, and I
was hoping if you would help? In fact there has been one littering ticket
given in the 30+ years I've lived here, by a rookie. I contacted Peter Venerieno's
office and all that seem to do is give the police more of a reason to hassle
me. I do not want trouble But I can not turn over and play dead. I still
can't walk to the corner store without seeing someone toss garbage out
the window. Please this is 1998

The fine for littering in North Carolina is in the THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. But we can't enjoy the same things as they do. Clean streets and waterways, not to mention tax relief from the added revenues, and people tend to obey more severe laws. Just like they are thinking, "If they are that harsh on litter, I'd better think twice about knocking over that gas station". I was a psychology major in college.

The response was no help what so ever in fact The trouble little did I know was just starting.....

This was right along the road in marlboro...
I can't think very highly of such slobs..

The above is wycoff rd Eatontown, in this pic there are hundreds of cigarette butts. I recently asked a Eatontown police officer why he has to toss his garbage on the ground? His response "what's wrong with that? Everyone does it." Great System HUH?
This is the stuff you don't see anywhere else except here. I'm so sick and tired of every knuckle head and his brother tossing their crap in the water.
HERE IS A PICTURE OF A SPILLWAY FULL OF
OUR  STATES NAMESAKE GARBAGE
The other day I noticed a guy walk across the road with a container of oil that he just changed from his truck. I also noticed him dump the used oil on the ground right next to a stream that ran straight into our Shrewsbury River. He has been doing it for as many years as he has lived there. I went home and called the Police station. I was not helped in any way, they did say try someone else. I did try thr Harbor Master of our area. Well to make a long story short, I spent a hour on the phone calling people and didn't find a soul that would so much as raise a eyebrow. So every few months a gallon and a half of dirty OIL in dumped into our rivers and who cares. From the response I got from our local police, one would think that this is legal.

This is a spillway in Marlboro NJ It is hard to see but there is a ton of garbage here Rt. 9 Manalapan
New Jersey wants your litter, just put it where it is suppose to go.

A typical street in Marlboro NJ Why does this happen, lets get garbage cans with lids. Use just a plastic bag, very stupid
I was walking my dog the other day, when I saw a boro hall employee toss trash into the water, I told her not to do that, She said "If you don't like looking at it don't come here, to the water" This was told to me by a so called high class person, and she is related to me, by Marriage! My wife asked me not to mention her name.

This is the water we drink, This is so damn gross!!! Water shed in Colts Neck

More of the dirty water we drink

All filth all litter from slobs

This is oil and other filth Chemical Vials etc. here with OIL
Ever see how the common builder changes the oil in their back hoes? They dig a hole, put machine over hole, drain the oil into hole, re-fill motor with oil, back fill the hole filled with oil. The above photo is result of this practice, and we want more homes?

The mayor of Rumson likes litter it seems. He ordered the police to leave litterbugs alone, the same seems to been done to all local police houses. This was recently told to me by capt. Mc Cue of Little Silver, NJ. You should see it when the wind blows!
When he told me"As long as I'm mayor, that stupid law will not be enforced" That hit a nerve. In back of his Office they have the recycling station. The holes in the fence are 2" square, and the little Styrofoam peanuts just blow through, and into the river. You can also see how people park and smoke and empty their ashtrays. Today 10-25-01, I drove four miles and noticed four people litter. I just don't see the mindset that lets a person treat the earth like a big garbage pail.

There is no shortage of litter in New Jersey

Can you imagine that people expect this, I think it is very disgusting

Not even a fresh layer of leaves can't cover the trash here in Wall Township
Are there any laws that are enforced anywhere? Here we see how effective recycling is. A bunch of recycle stuff in regular trash. Why in the world do we put our recyclable in separate containers, then dump them all in regular trash? Things like this are strange? Is there a soul out there that knows why??

Called state capitol today. Spoke to Micah Rasmussen. Have to say that I detected a sence of honesty in this man. This I rarely see in places where people of power work.
Micah said he would look into all of this. The next day I see a change of staff in Trenton.
And yes micah's name was on the list. I fear that honest person may have spoken up, and was punished for it. Being Communications Director, then sharing a press secretary's job. Doen't seem fair!
I really hope that this guy has the guts to enforce laws like other states do.
Talked to a truck driver the other day. He said he just drove from PA. When he crossed the border into NJ, he felt like he drove into a huge garbage dump, it was NJ.
Fines from litter should bring revenues to state. If these laws are ignored, no fines, no revenue.
Punishing the people of this state by taking their hard earned money, to pay some people to clean streets
has to be one of the stupidest ideas yet. Marine police don't enforce it. Everytime it rains, our waterways get covered with storm drain run off. If the state has a problem find a solution, or see what other states do, and follow suit. When a politician has to automaticly rubber stamp TAX to their solution. Well thats when their expertise shows. In this case I can see that very little thought has decided this.
The stone cold fact that litter is not enforced is sick, Ordering the police not to enforce this common sense law is sicker!!

Sierra Club New Jersey Chapter  New Jersey Newspapers  Public CitizenDumb Laws
I would rather see a few signs, and fines. Keep it green.
I've been asked under the freedom of information act to see how many littering tickets have been issued in this state. I tried to get support from Cindy Zipf of Clean Ocean Action, all I wanted was a atta boy. She does not seem to want this made public.
The nearest I can see is that if there is no more pollution,  ...she'd be out of a job.
I'm really starting to think that, these so called environmental organizations are all a big snow job, joke, pulling the wool over ones eyes, or in laymen's terms .....LIE. And the more I try the more I believe this to be true!!!
The below towns receive huge amounts of tax payer money as a incentive
to enforce this Law. But they have chosen to take the money and run.

Important Update : Results from audit, done from the Right to Know.

All of these are free to the public,  my copy is in the hands of Todd Bates Of the Asbury Park Press, or get your own through the freedom of information act.

Big tax dollars are sent to every town here by us the taxpayer. Like Rumson NJ gets over 14 thousand dollars a year from us as a incentive to do litter. What these thief's are doing is just taking the money and run!! Thief is the right word!

Now, These facts are not intended to embarrass the police in any way.
The hard truth is that the judges in this state have banded together, and ordered their officers not to waste their valuable court time with littering fines.
This information has been on voluntarily terms from many police officers. This is insane what our governor has done, in so many words, he has decided to punish the tax paying citizens of New Jersey. And not to do what other states do, punish litterbugs.
Governor James Mc Greevey has decided to hire crews and have them clean our highways. But still towns like what I show here will still have the right to ignore this law. When I read this in the newspaper I thought I was looking at Alfred E Newman. They both seem to have the same mentality. A real shame, what a waste of a white boy.

New Jersey was once the most beautiful state ever, we need people to spread the word. I believe the media will only verify the validity of the contents of this webpage to true and with hard facts, and the public driving it! There are valuable aquafers that run under our state providing us with the purest water, this has been tainted with toxins from polution that has been attacking our water system. A human  can only live three days without water. How can anyone in their right mind alloow this to continue? Our past Governor has shown her true colors by allowing this mess.

THIS IS ONE CRUMMY SYSTEM!
