Genealogy can be quite fascinating, finding ancestors, exploring the family history, turning up relations you hadn't known. Since I am a Currie, and there are quite a few around, I have got something to share. I will add more as information comes to me. I would be pleased if you care to share your story, e-mail me: ardenDASHcATcomcastDOTnet (decipher capitals).
From my own branch of the clan is a copy of the "Genealogy and History of the Currie Family" printed and distributed to members of the family in 1913. This is the story of John Currie, son of James, born in Yetholm, Roxboroughshire, Scotland, Oct. 25th, 1776 and his wife, Hannah Lockey, born Nov. 11, 1784 in Ilderton, Northumberland, England. Married May 27, 1805 at Jedburgh. Emigrating with wife and six children to America in May 1818, landing in New York and settling in Canada in the township of Scarboro, eventually the family growing to ten children. I scanned this into a PDF document that will open with Acrobat Reader. It is rather a large file at 4.2MB consisting of 32 pages. You can view or save to disk(right click) here Currie_1913.pdf
