Focus on Photography
Although I got a late start on photography around age 23 I have been involved with it either professionally or as a hobby ever since. I find it somewhat magical to be able to aim this little box, push a button and capture an image that can be enjoyed now and possibly a hundred years from now.
Capturing Memories
Just take one look at these kids and it puts a smile on your face. This birthday party can bring back the memories of having fun with these children as well as the memories of your own birthday parties as a child. Pictures are a wonderful way to relive the happy and fun moments of your life and bring the faces of those you love right in front of you.
Pictures seem to freeze time. The people, animals or buildings will never age any further in a photograph. The moment has literally been frozen in time.
Documenting the Present
With digital images and the internet, an image can go from some far-off corner of the world and onto millions of computer screens in a few minutes thanks to CNN.com and other news websites. When the power of the media combines with the power of the internet and the power of a photograph, that's a lot of power!
Nature also packs a whole lot of power. Back in Feb 2003 we got quite a heap of power in the form of powder. All that snow has since melted but this photo brings the moment back quite vividly.
