Here is a little highly compressed video of Sasha's first slalom race, this past Sunday at Alpental. He can be seen inspecting the course with his coach, Dean Tomkin (former coach of gold medal winner Debbie Armstrong!) and then making his two runs through this 50 gate course. Our little guy, who had skied only 8 days before and never seen a race course, did pretty darn well, beating 7 out of 23 kids, most of whom skiied with race clubs, in the 9-10 age group.
