TREATING COMMON COMPLAINTS AND INJURIES Even if your practice is primarily relaxation based, the reality is that almost all clients have some complaints about problems in their bodies or seek improvement with some issues. Many therapists shy away from working with these conditions, primarily because of trepidation due to lack of knowledge about safe and effective techniques. Some of the major conditions covered include:
In addition to soft tissue skills, we also cover stretching, strengthening and other self-help suggestions for your clients, and the psychological issues that differentiate treatment of injuries from “regular” massage Prerequisite: Level I Deep Tissue/Myofascial Release, but strongly recommended that Level II also be taken beforehand. INTEGRATIVE FULL BODY DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE One problem with advanced bodywork classes is the fact that many therapists work in private practice or in spas where clients are accustomed to full body massage. The real benefit with an advanced workshop in any subject is knowing how to incorporate the new information into an holistic integrated massage without forcing you to alter the way you already work. How does a therapist perform therapeutic deep work on the full body with smooth continuity for clients who may not want detailed “spot work”? This class integrates the isolated segments that are taught in Level I and Level II into a smooth continuity. Your clients will have the advantage of detailed therapeutic work on problem areas but also the pleasure of having their whole body feeling integrated so that the whole actually does equal the sum of the parts. Prerequisite: Level I Deep Tissue/Myofascial Release

Student Reviews I wanted to let you know about some of the feed back I've had from the last couple of weeks since the course. One of my regular clients was in last week and I received a txt from him at the beginning of the week that said, "I wanted to let you know that the massage on Saturday was the best ever". A couple of new clients also made very positive comments. One that her neck hadn't felt as good in years and the other had "found the person she'd been looking for", or words to that effect. ........................ Just wanted to say thanks for your feedback on frozen shoulder. The client had increased range of motion by the end of one session! The PNF stretches helped immensely. I can't believe how much massage can actually help people. OH! and another client has had..plantar fasciatis. They said since I worked on their feet the first time, they haven't had any symptoms since. |
