Sandra Daniel has lived and worked in Lafayette for most of her life. She attended Lafayette, West Lafayette and Tippecanoe County schools and graduated from Purdue University in Liberal Arts. She has been a part of many juried art shows in the area, has won awards, and taught several classes. |  |  | She has worked in various media, including stained glass, fiberglass, pottery, watercolor and oil. The main body of her work since 1990 has been oil paintings, with subjects including still life, floral, and abstract. Metallic embellishments are often included in her compositions. Most often inspiration comes from objects of beauty, color, light and form, yet on one occasion, an abstract painting was the successful artistic result of a dog bite. Sandra is never lacking ideas for paintings and finds great joy in the push and pull of the paint. As one of the founding members of Artists Own cooperative, she is returning to this talented group of creative artists and to support the art community in downtown Lafayette. |
