Artists’ Statement Working on the wall gives me the freedom to explore what I call 3 dimensional drawings. I experiment with glazes that add texture and color found in the natural world where most of my inspirations come from. Some pieces are abstractions of birds, flowers or figures. Many of these figures are expressions of emotion. I see my work as visual poetry that can be interpreted by the viewer’s own set of experiences. I enjoy working with the physical qualities and gestures of the material while uncovering beauty and meaning. |
