The clay work is hand burnished for a smooth, stone-like feel and earth fired, which allows smoke to produce the coloring or markings on the surfaces, rather than glazes. Many of the jewelry works/adornments incorporate sterling silver with shells and stone, in order to more directly show how precious the natural materials are.
