  • PPP SETUP

    Need help setting up a PPP connection? Check out the PPP_setup.txt document for some pointers.

  • OVERLAY FILESYSTEM SOFTWARE

    IT'S HERE: Download the latest beta release version, 1.0.5, of the overlay filesystem (Released June 26, 1998). Note: versions 1.0.1 through 1.0.3 have a bug that causes them to be unusable to first time users who specify a storage file. Please upgrade to 1.0.4 - or downgrade to 1.0.

    The overlay filesystem allows one filesystem, or directory tree, to be "overlayed" with another so that the result is a single filesystem, or directory tree, with all file, directory, and inode modifications being placed in overlaying filesystem.

    Just an extra word of caution: be careful using filesystems with several thousand files.

  • NFS PATCH

    Download the following patch to the nfs_server_2.2beta23 distribution in order to allow pseudo filesystems, such as proc or ovl, to be usable across nfs mounts. Be warned that, while it should still prevent NFS files from being re-exported, this has not been well tested.
