The Gardens at 58 Nahor Drive

Driving south on Jefferson Drive, as one approaches Nahor Drive, one sees the residence at 58 Nahor Drive with its many gardens. Towering in the front yard are several majestic oak trees surrounded by flowering pink and white dogwoods, pink flowering kwansan cherry trees and a variety of other hardwood trees. At first sight, one sees a small garden surrounding an electric power box with its beautiful flowering forsythia bushes. This garden contains several lilac bushes, recently planted, and several clusters of nippon daisies. The front of this garden is planted with annuals in season. This year, 2009, we have planted several Lantana plants and a Zinnia plant, now in bloom. We also started a new garden with vinca and ornamentasl grass plantings.

Signature Rock Garden

Behind the small front garden, is the signature garden at this residence. This is a freeform rock garden, bordered with Virginia river rock. The garden was started with several large quartz rocks from our son-in-law's residence in Esmont, VA. We then added rocks found within the boundaries of the yard. The garden contains a white dogwood tree, natural to the property, several other varieties of hardwood trees, bearded iris, daffodils, bleeding hearts, obedient plants, which are not at all obedient, dianthus, snap dragons, verbena, pinks, astilbe, lamb's ear and crocus.
