from humble beginnings with a Roland Juno 106, Boss DR-660, and a Sequential Six-Trak, the wysiwyg studio has evolved over the years. slowly synthezisers and drum machines where added and subtracted looking for that perfect combination of user interface and sonic quality. in recent times, the studio has undergone a purge, eliminating equipment that has become costly to service. unfortuately, this has meant some of the prized Roland equipment has been sold.
the current studio has a balance of classic Roland and more contemporary offerings. the Access Virus b has assumed the role of the Jupiter 6 and Juno 106 poly synths, as well as that of the SH-101. it does a great job at recreating that classic Roland filter sound, albeit not exactly. the Roland TR-808 and TB-303, staples of many genres, still remain as does the Roland JD-800. sequencing and sampling are performed by the Akai MPC-2000XL. the MPC-2000XL has also assumed the role of the TR-909. the Future Retro 777, although a great synth, did not live up to expectations; it was purchased to replace the second TB303 that had developed problems but could not match the classic 303 squarewave sound.
