Antioch Schools Education Foundation

The Mary Allan Fellows Award

The Antioch Schools Education Foundation has established a "Mary Allan Fellows Award" to recognize outstanding teachers who demonstrate innovation and dedication to the teaching profession. The Fellows who are chosen will receive $1,500 for enhancing academics in the classroom during the school year and $500 for personal use.

For those of you who are new to the Antioch Unified School District, Mary Allan just retired after 20 years of teaching third and fourth grades at Bidwell and Jack London schools. In 2001 she received the "California Teacher of the Year" award, an honor she attributes to a team effort provided by her colleagues, district/site administrators, site staff, and parents. She was known for her work with parents and innovative teaching in an effort to bring out the best in students as they worked toward academic excellence.
