Teacher Grants |
Antioch Schools Education Foundation
TopIntroduction
Since 1996, Antioch Schools Education Foundation (ASEF) funds have been provided to Antioch Unified School District (AUSD) sites for many educational projects. The ASEF‘s goal is to enhance the educational programs within the school district by awarding grants to educators, such as teachers and librarians, encouraging innovation in teaching.
TopCriteria and Information
- For the current academic year, 2006-2007, maximum awards of $1000.00 have been established. There is no minimum.
- The ASEF seeks to fund grant applications that foster innovation and creative teaching approaches that will challenge and excite students about learning.
- The ASEF encourages grants submitted as part of a grade level team or departmental level team, to spread the benefits of the grant to the most students.
- Grant awards are generally limited to one grant per person, whether as an individual or part of a group.
- Grant applications must be postmarked no later than Monday November 27, 2006.
- Successful grant applications will be announced Monday December 11, 2006 and will be assigned a "grant number."
- Grants are issued to the Principal for oversight responsibility who will then work with the teacher while disbursing proceeds through the school‘s student fund account.
- Your program must conclude by the end of the school year.
- ASEF is very interested in the success of your program and how the grant funding supported your program. ASEF would like to highlight your program in future marketing and in public relations announcements. Please complete a one-page, typewritten "Summary Report" addressing the learning impact of your completed program, along with two or three photographs if convenient and/or appropriate. Please mail to the Foundation as soon as possible, but no later than May 31, 2007. Please reference via your assigned grant number.
Eligibility
Antioch Unified School District teachers, district personnel and student groups (under direct teacher supervision and/or AUSD jurisdiction) are all eligible to apply.
TopThe Consideration Process
- The Grant Committee and members of the ASEF Board of Directors will evaluate each timely application according to the following criteria:
- Does the proposal address an unmet need?
- Is the proposal consistent with projects that benefit student education?
- Is there a commitment of partial funding from another source (e.g. PTA or corporate) enhancing the value of your proposal?
- The ASEF may consider other relevant information to help balance approval of applications at different schools and grade levels, seeking to reach as many students as possible through the Grant Program.
Submission
Application must be postmarked no later than Monday November 27, 2007. Failure to submit an application on time or to not follow the above guidelines may result in automatic denial.
