Call Officer Harris
If you report a crime to 911, our local patrol
officers don't necessarily hear about it. You should definitely
still call 911. But in addition, Officer Jeff Harris of the
DeKalb County Police requests that you call him directly at
404-297-3950 to report incidents in the neighborhood so that he can
tell our local patrol officers what to watch for.
And finally, please report crime
and suspicious activity to webmaster@ashfordpark.org
so we can post it on line. You can also alert your neighbors
directly and immediately by posting to a-p-x@yahoogroups.com.

Ashford Park residents were hit with a wave of car break-ins
early in 2006. Arrests were made and criminal activity seems
to have decreased. |

From Wednesday, May 18, 2005 through Friday, thieves raided
several homes in our neighborhood:
On Wednesday, they broke into a locked under-deck storage area at 1757 Tobey Road and stole a lawnmower and weed whacker.
A neighbor at 2888 Skyland had his front door kicked in and virtually every electronic component in his house was stolen, in addition to his wife's jewelry box.
Another person had a lawnmower stolen on Parkridge.
On Thursday, a contractor lost his tools on Carleton.
Friday night, a couple of large tool boxes were stolen out of
a pickup truck parked in a driveway on Wilford Drive.
Suspicious character alert:
Keep your eyes open for a young male knocking on doors and call 911 if you see suspicious activity.

| Registered Sex Offender
The Georgia
Bureau of Investigation lists on their website that a registered
sex offender resides at 1287 Sunland Drive in Ashford Park.

Nuisance neighbor:
Watch out for an overweight mid 40’s scraggly hair, bearded WM roaming the neighborhood barefooted. He lives
in east Ashford Park between two houses (two families) on Bambi and
Skyland. He is known to steal and sell stolen items in the neighborhood. He is also known to use controlled substances. He is sometimes seen in the company of his neice who is a skinny, bleached blonde woman in her 30's. He sometimes begs for money and has been seen digging around a couple of building sites after dark. If you witness this individual doing anything suspicious or causing any disturbance, call 911. |
