Sign Up for FREE Emergency Email Service

Joe Taibi read about this in The Villages Daily Sun and passed this information along.

You can sign up with The Emergency Email & Wireless Network®, a free public service that will notify you via your cell phone or Blackberry, email, digital player, or FAX in case of a local, regional, or national emergency (severe weather, health, homeland and cyber emergencies).

You should sign up for this program if you live in The Villages or its surrounding area. It's as easy as 1—2—3....

  1. Enter your complete email address, county, and zip code.

  2. Click on the check boxes for the options you want to receive. If a box is already checked, but you don't want it, click on it and the checkmark will be removed.

  3. Select how you receive your emails.

  4. Optionally, you can turn the service off during certain hours of the day or night when you want to block all NON-emergency messages, and change your time zone.

  5. Click on Add.

The Emergency Email Network® will confirm your registration, giving you an email response.

This is FREE and may come in handy in case of a disaster. Good luck.
