Have items that others can borrow? Here's where you can post items that you are willing to lend to others for a short time.

Air Mattress
Medical Assistance Equipment
Stuck Window Opener

Air Mattress

We have a queen-sized Aerobed air mattress that you can borrow for visitors. It inflates using a vacuum cleaner and is very easy to use. Rolls up to fit in a bag when deflated. You do need to put a mattress pad or blanket between the mattress and sheets when the weather is cool.

Medical Assistance Equipment

Phil Edgington passed along this information after Lois Ringland requested the use of some medical assistance devices for her neighbor who would need them after surgery.

NOTE:  A couple of people have tried the VHA, but they didn't have the equipment to lend (or... perhaps they only lend equipment out to current VHA members?).

The VHA (Villages Homeowners Association) has all sorts of equipment to use for free. I used their services when I came out of the hospital. Look at the VHA newspaper, The Villages Voice, for contacts. They will deliver and pick up with no time limit.

The Villages Voice is published once a month and distributed with The Villages Daily Sun the second Thursday of every month. You can also access information in The Villages Voice Online (click on link to access the site).

Stuck Window Opener

Many people (ladies & men alike) have said that their windows are a "bear" to open. Mine too. So, I built a very simple device that allows anyone to easily break the seal of a stuck window, be it weak or strong. It’s a simple lever device that fits into the small finger lip of the window & rests on the window sill. With minimal downward pressure the window is open. Once open, lubricate the window with WD-40 or any similar non-stick product and your windows ride freely.

Several neighbors who have already used it speak kindly of its ease & effectiveness. The best part is, it's FREE to anyone who wants to borrow it. Just return it when you’re done so others can use it too.

Testimonial

Thanks so much for your ingenious window tool. It opened my windows in about 10 seconds. Got them all open and sprayed with WD-40, and now am looking for locks to put on windows when I open them.

You are amazing!!! It was so wonderful to open the windows this morning and let all that fresh air in the house. Felt really good!

Sincerely,
Carole Hannigan
